At Karigar Biriyani, our aim is to bring an authentic unique experience to our customers. Our recipes find their roots in ancient Tamil culture dating back to the Cheran era where Perun Choru was part of the feast meal for the kings.
Our recipes are based on the original Tamil recipe of Perun Choru, a creation of the Cheran King Uthiyan. At Karigar Biriyani, an unforgettable taste is considered a virtue and each customer is a guest in our home
The word “Karigar” itself translates as the word for 'Artisan'.
To this end, we aim to promote artisanal activities among local communities through our business practices.
All of our packaging is sourced from villages such as Vembar in Tamil Nadu, whose residents practice the art of palm leaf weaving (or Panai Olai Pinnal as it is locally called). This art form is the primary source of livelihood for local artisans who make meagre profits for their hard work due to which this cottage industry as a whole is slowly disappearing .
We source all our packaging directly from these artisans, at the rates that are charged for them in the city. Through such initiatives, we aim to enrich the lives of our own artisans, promote eco-friendly alternatives to plastic and also preserve the ancient traditions and art forms of our rich culture.
We have worked to package our meals in a way that lets you bring the quality of our meal into our home. We always love to serve you in person, but even when we can't we ensure that's dining experience is superr!
Now enjoy your get together, parties, kalyanam, virtual events with biriyani. Fresh and delicious biriyani will be delivered to you packed in kottan, served with accomplishments.
